Radiohead at the Grammys

February 9th, 2009

Hopefully you were able to tune into the Yorke/Greenwood performance on the Grammys last night – it was brilliant. In case you missed it, look below. I’ve also posted the incredible “Rap Pack” performance with T.I., Kanye West, Jay-Z, L’il Wayne and baby-any-moment M.I.A. Other notable Grammy moments: Blink-182 are back together, Green Day have discovered bleach and are coming out with a new album soon, Coldplay did a bang-up job, as did Justin Timberlake (the T.I./Timberlake performance was one of the best of the night.) All in all, the performances rocked and the awards were only somewhat disappointing. Not bad, Grammys!

Bruce Springsteen at the Super Bowl

February 1st, 2009

Springsteen did a really good job this evening! “Born to Run” was anticipated, and its placement in the center of the set was a good call. The other 3 songs are listed on Billboard, and 3 of all 4 were classics. The light show was impressive, but not over-the-top, and everyone in the E Street Band looked healthy and happy. Personally, I was hoping they’d play “The Wrestler” as a big “Screw you!” to the Academy for completely snubbing The Boss. The audience seemed to be really into it, and it was just generally a great performance.

I am still working on reviews for the three CDs I mentioned in a previous post; school is pwning my life right now.
